Revisão sistemática sobre a ação do chocolate, chá, vinho tinto e café na saúde cardiovascular

Resumo

Foram selecionados 23 artigos publicados entre 1981 e 2006 pela American Heart Association (AHA) disponíveis no site, sobre o consumo de café, chá de Camélia sinensis, chocolate e vinho tinto ou uva e analisada sua influencia na saúde humana. Na sua maioria os indivíduos analisados foram mulheres (63%). Dentre os trabalhos analisados, houve 16 ocorrências (69.56%) de resultados positivos na saúde humana, enquanto 4 (17,39%) ocorrências de resultados negativos e 7 (30,43%) ocorrências de efeito nulo com o consumo destes alimentos. Alguns estudos obtiveram tanto resultados positivos e negativos dependendo da quantidade do alimento oferecido ou frequência de consumo. Outros artigos obtiveram resultados positivos e sem efeito no mesmo estudo. O chocolate foi o alimento que percentualmente maior teve efeito na saúde com melhora do perfil lipídico e menor oxidação do LDL colesterol (31,25%). Os estudos com o café e vinho tinto ou uva obtiveram bons resultados em 25% cada com melhora em vasodilatação, diminuição de formação de placas aterogênicas, diminuição de triglicérides (TG), efeito estimulante do sistema nervoso central (SNC) e melhora de fadiga. Dos estudos feitos com o chá, 18,75% apresentaram melhora na função vasomotora, redução de peso e circunferência da cintura e diminuição de colesterol LDL. Outros estudos devem ser feitos mas de acordo com análise é válido incluir na dieta saudável alimentos ricos em antioxidantes pois estes possuem efeito protetor e influem positivamente na recuperação de determinadas doenças.
