Benefits of omega 3 ingestion and the prevention of chronicles degenerative diseases
Abstract
Objectives: Evaluate the benefits of the Omega 3 ingestion in the prevention of chronicle-degenerative diseases thru a systematic review. Casuistry and Methods: A systematic review was conducted with basis in studies that address the benefits of the Omega 3 in chronicle-degenerative diseases. Were used 33 articles from the last 21 years. Were collected 10 scientific articles from field, among them national and international, that was published from 1991 to 2009 and were found in the Journal of Lipid Research, Cardiovascular Research, The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, The Journal of Nutrition, Jornal de Pediatria, Revista Brasileira de Nutrição Clínica. Results: The research has shown it was obtained a significant protective effect over cardiovascular disease, because it decreases the blood pressure, hepatic production of triglycerides, cholesterol, reduce of arrhythmias, platelet aggregation and inflammatory responses. Conclusion :The consumption of w-3 above 1g daily (EPA + DHA) and greater consumption of fat or dark fish has importance in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases and chronic degenerative diseases.
